Thanks to Sinclair Broadcast Group now each Sunday immediately following "This Week" my TV suddenly is transformed into Fox News for thirty minutes with a new show named "Full Measure" hosted by discredited reporter Sharyl  Attkisson who was fired by CBS.  She gives viewers  a full measure of stories meant to amplify Republican talking points. On today's show Attkisson spent most of the show acting as an apologist for Trey Gowdy's Select Committee on Benghazi, and its partisan smears of Hillary. During her report Attkisson spent a lot of time hyperventilating about how the Benghazi attack wasn't immediately labeled as a terrorist attack by Hillary and the Obama White House, doing her best to imply that something nefarious was behind that temporary omission.

The video won't embed here so you'll have to click on the link to watch Attkisson's one sided propaganda piece on Benghazi.

Sharyl Attkisson Teams Up With Conservative Broadcaster For National News Show

Discredited former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson will host a weekly news show on Sunday mornings for Sinclair Broadcast Group across its 62 stations, the group announced April 22.

TV Technology reported that the show will be able to reach 37.5 percent of U.S. TV households and will air "on Sinclair's Fox, ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates nationwide." The magazine added, "the 30-minute program, which will be based in Washington, D.C., will be a blend of investigative and political journalism, with a focus on accountability, according to Sinclair. Attkisson will join Sinclair in June, and the show is expected to launch in the fall of 2015."

Media Matters has documented Attkisson's long history of sloppy and inaccurate reporting, including her confused allegation that someone in the government broke into her computers.

Sinclair Broadcast Group which is growing rapidly and expanding it reach, recently bought WJLA  in Washington, DC. Under new ownership, WJLA-TV takes a slight turn to the right

By Paul Farhi

Since completing the acquisition, Sinclair has moved swiftly to remodel WJLA, by far the largest and most important asset in the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio. The company has spent $2.8 billion over the past three years to buy stations, and now owns or operates 164 of them, making it the largest station operator in the nation.

The station has also begun to carry pieces produced by Sinclair’s Washington bureau about national issues and federal programs. These stories have generally been critical of the Obama administration and tend to offer perspectives primarily from conservative think tanks. Sinclair is controlled by chief executive David D. Smith and his three brothers, the sons of Julian Sinclair Smith, who started the company with a single UHF TV station in Baltimore, WBFF, in 1971. The company flirted with bankruptcy in the early 2000s but has grown rapidly in the past three years, more than doubling its station count through acquisitions.

Over the years, the company and its executives have been consistent financial contributors to Republican candidates. Its stations have also aired a series of news programs that Democrats have found objectionable.

“They have developed a reputation over a long number of years of pushing their stations to air news framed by a conservative worldview,” said Craig Aaron, the president of FreePress, a Washington organization that advocates for greater diversity in media ownership. “They have a way of [presenting] the news so that Republicans will like it a lot better than Democrats. . . . When a company is as big as they are at a local level, it’s a cause for concern.”

Sinclair’s takeover has caused some unease in WJLA’s newsroom. Staffers say some of the stories ordered by Sinclair on a “must-run” basis don’t meet the station’s long tradition of non-partisan reporting.
