I attended the Zoom meeting announced above, got to explain a bit about these DK posts and the good news that you don’t hear from the MSM, and signed up for more. We are supposed to get the recording of the meeting soon, and other materials on the group’s programs, meetings, organization, and so on. Our Slack channel is becoming quite active, with numerous subchannels for various aspects of the problem and regions of the country.

Hi all - here are my notes from the Clean Energy for Harris call today, Aug. 5, 2024, for those who couldn't join. Please feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong below. 230+ participants!!! Interim climate voters director, Jake Schwartz, HFP, provided some updates:
- Raised $310M in one month, has 170,000 volunteers, 1400 field staff, organizing at grassroots level
- Will launch fellowship on Relational Organizing in the coming weeks
- August 16-on the anniversary of the IRA-will have a Climate Voters for Harris kickoff call
- Early September - official Climate Voters for Harris launch

Atticus F. - on Finance committee

Andrea Crooms - on relational organizing

Jess Leader, Comms lead for CE4H

- Strategy
- Genevieve Nowicki
- Discussed leadership structure, mentioned National House Party day in September
- Susan Bass and Julia Farmer - CE4H - Women's group lead, encouraged people to join, can contact michelle@biospherestrategies.comajaxbass@gmail.comjuliafar@gmail.com
- Scott Thomasson, former/current(?) FL state lead, talked about past state lead efforts
- Daisy Pistey-Lyhne from NorCal wanted to know about next call, and a Clean Energy party rumored to be in the works.
Genevieve noted that she will have calls scheduled sometime between tomorrow and Thursday, will send calendar invites for calls this week or next for state teams and affinity groups
Genevieve also noted GOTV effort and canvassing training underway - organizing events in both battleground states and non-battleground states
Genevieve answered questions about relationship between clean energy and other issues - noting that the connections made should be personal to you (i.e., if both clean energy and women’s issues are a priority for you, you should bring them up in relational organizing as relevant to you)
- Chris King, has done canvassing in Nevada - recommends doing it after Labor Day. Noted that in his experience, the level of voter knowledge about Kamala Harris is low, so need to listen to people about their issues and help educate them.
Others on call noted that it’s important to get out and educate voters as soon as possible due to early voting
See Ezra Klein had a podcast interview on low information voters a few months ago https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/18/opinion/ezra-klein-podcast-yanna-krupnikov.html
Others noted: It’s important to connect cleantech with centrist pro-business messaging.
Businesses, other than the Fossil Foolishness giants, are increasingly on board, because this is about them making or saving Real MoneyTM, which always engages the attention of any but the ideologues.
