We all know by now that there is a feedback loop for all the Trump MAGA nonsense and propaganda masquerading as fact and truth. However, I have been wondering just where this stuff has been coming from in particular. I know there are a ton of right-wing outlets and online blogs of course, but how has it been reaching the White House, especially for the Press Secretary, Caroline Leavitt, to hold forth on from the podium? And which then is dutifully reported out by the press in the room.
Well, now, thanks to Cory Hargraves, who is with The Meidas Touch Network, I know exactly where it is coming from. So, first, hats off to Cory for figuring this out and providing it to the almost 5 million strong who are subscribed to Meidas Touch. (A little bit about Cory first: he was a sniper during the Iraq war, was raised on a tribal reservation by a single mom, and now is a property investor, dad to a daughter, and somehow, he still finds the time to do stellar work for Meidas Touch too.)
Alrighty, buckle up. Hargraves talked at length about this massive feedback loop, the totally fabricated stories that are promulgated and then make their way to the loop, but especially how the entire damned thing works. Ready? The right-wing outlets, tabloids, blogs and vlogs, some of them even in Great Britain, just make up stuff---think about the Enquirer magazine on steroids and that will get you at least halfway there. And then this made-up stuff makes it way to The White House. Specifically, for it to become a rinse and repeat operation, to the White House's government website. Yep. You did read that correctly--you do not need glasses.
The White House government website is the end source for this crap. And this then totally explains why so many MAGA folks believe literally everything they hear and read about. Because it's not only on Ben Shapiro's The Daily Wire. Or Tucker Carlson's The Daily Caller. Breitbart. And The Daily Mail. This stuff, these made-up stories, flat-out lies and conspiracy theories are making their way to the White House government website because the choice has been made to publish this crap on it. The White House is then calculatingly using these sources to justify whatever they want us to believe, never mind the source materials are lies and nonsense.
Thus, misinformation is promulgated on what probably most Americans would have at least until now trusted: The White House government website. And as Hargraves says, this is how the Trump administration is convincing millions of Americans that the information they are receiving is true and trustworthy. Instead, it is sheer propaganda of the worst and most dangerous kind.
Some of the crap? Well, how about the huge story that USAID was paying for gender surgeries for prisoners in Guatemala? On the WH website after it made its way from the blogs and tabloids. And the information on drag theater performances paid for by USAID. And. And. And. I could go on but just these few examples ought to give you enough to understand how lies, propaganda, and dangerous, as Hargraves says, BS are entrenching themselves in the American culture. This is what we are up against folks.
